Biography
South Texas-based Indie Rock group Goldfinch is digging deep into a new sound in 2024. The project began at the height of the COVID pandemic as a therapeutic way for singer Tony Shepherd to navigate personal grief and turmoil.
"The majority of the songs on the new album were written as therapy. They weren't originally meant for public release. I showed them to our guitarist, Carlos Rodriguez, and he convinced me that there was something meaningful in the songs that deserved to be shared."
After many late night conversations, the duo decided that if they were to record the songs as an album, they wanted to be as honest and vulnerable in their songwriting as possible; the hope was that by documenting Shepherd's healing and growth through trauma, the songs can help others work through their own personal issues.
